Join The Children's Society and explore the streets of London with your friends and family and take in many of its famous bridges, landmarks, tourist attractions and The Mayor's Thames Festival. It is a great day out for everyone and most of all, you will be helping The Children's Society to create a society where children can be children, childhood is respected and every child is valued for who they are.

Walk & Explore is a fun, sponsored, walking adventure through the historic heart of London and brings together hundreds of supporters. What better way to spend your day than by enjoying the capital's sights and walking its famous bridges as you wind your way through London? There are 3 walking challenges to choose from - 1.5 miles, 5 miles or 10 miles, so there is something for everyone.

Book your place by registering in advance at www.walkandexplore.org.uk or call 0845 300 1128. There is an optional registration fee of £10 for adults, £5 for children and under 3's go free.

The walk will officially start at 10.30am. Participants should aim to arrive between 9.45am and 10.15am in order to receive their FREE T-SHIRT, route map, walker ID badge and stamp station postcard for the children.

Participants can decide which walking route they would like to follow upon their arrival at the Tate Modern.
