The Mayor's Thames Festival River Parade is an annual event celebrating the Thames and all who sail upon it. From pleasure cruisers to sailing barges, luxury yachts to oyster smacks, the River Parade swells the Thames with big boats, small boats, old boats and new boats. With a healthy disregard for pomp and pageantry, the River Parade combines exceptional historic vessels with everyday working boats, bringing the past and present users of London's oldest landmark together on the water to have a jolly good time. If a river boat's worth its salt it will be there with bells on.

2:50pm Parade sets off from Queen Elizabeth II Pier by the O2, Greenwich
3:40pm Parade arrives at Tower Bridge and is joined by Jubilant + boats from St Katharine Docks
4:05pm Parade returns under Lambeth Bridge
4:40pm Parade returns under Tower Bridge
4:45pm Parade disperses at Cherry Garden Pier, east of Tower Bridge

Your Festival is a wonderfull idea I will go as soon as I could. We arevery close to our River Plate that is such a precious gift that god gave to us and I enjoy it very frecuently with my own sailing boat. Many of the crew members of yachtin clubs here learned about sailing onto the river. Now some had won the “Copa del Rey” in Spain. The river is a source of life , sport and joy for all of us.
Live the rivers of the world.

Having taken part in this fantastic event over the last number of years it’s gives me great pleasure to be able to enter a crew to the Thames Waterman Cutter Race which will take place the next day on the 12th of September.

We will row Trinity Tide which is owned by Corporation of Trinity House.

The event is well organised by Bob (Robert) Crouch who should have been knighted years ago. (Still time Ma,am)

Let’s celebrate the Thames together, See you on the water…..
