Sing for Water 2009
Sun 13 September 2009 / 2:15pm- 3:00pm
The Scoop at More London, by City Hall
Choirs from all over the country come together through their love of singing to perform a special repertoire of songs to help some of the world’s poorest people gain access to clean, safe water.
Over 800 voices will sing as part of the massed choir raising money for WaterAid projects in Ghana and Malawi. The choir is led by the fabulous Michael Harper and Roxane Smith.
Some of the choirs also give open-air recitals from their own repertoire. At London Bridge City Pier you can hear The Great Gustos (12pm), The Quangle Wangle Choir (12.15pm), Whitstable Whistlefish (12.30pm), Allunde (12.45pm) and Song Works (1pm). And on the riverside walkway by HMS Belfast there's Women ofNote (12pm), Good Vibrations (12.15pm), Unity Singers (12.30pm), Red Leicester Choir (12.45pm), EcCo (1pm), Streatham Voices (3.30pm) and Bangor Community Choir (3.45pm).
