Cutter Race 2009
Sun 13 September 2009 / 2pm - 4pm
River Thames, between Westminster Boating Base and Millennium Bridge
Cutters date from the early fifteenth century, they were the chosen vessel used by officials like the Admiralty and Customs. They were fast and could travel long distances in relative comfort. Fixed seat cutter-rowing was reintroduced to the Thames some 20 years ago and now has an energetic following among all ages and abilities.
Come and see the two cutter races:
The Elite Race departs from Westminster Boating Base at 2pm and will arrive at Millennium Bridge at 2.30pm
The Mixed Crew Race departs from Lambeth Bridge at 3.30pm and will arrive at Millennium Bridge at 4pm
Commentary on the races can be heard on Millennium Bridge
