The Blue Ribbon Village is the Thames Festival’s family-friendly, interactive river and environment zone.  Decorated by beautiful flags made by artist Shona Watt, Potters Fields Park is the place to explore the river’s wildlife, the industries it supports and its history.

Kayaking demonstrations by members of the Westminster Boating Base, a display boat hosted by the Maritime Volunteer Service and cups of lifeboat tea are just some of the activities provided by Thames-based groups this year.

An official partner in the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity, the Blue Ribbon Village is also the place to find out about protecting natural habitats and the UK’s diverse animal species.

We’re all looking forward to meeting visitors to the Blue Ribbon Village in this the
2010 International Year of Biodiversity. Come and find out how you can help Greenpeace to protect what’s left of the world’s rain forests. We’ll sign you up to our campaign and maybe you’d like to join those who have already become our Forest Defenders.
