BBC Blast Film Residency supported by the BFI 2010

Sat 11 – Sun 12 September 2010

Film-making taking place across the festival site

A group of trainee film-makers aged 16 to 19 undertook a month of production training with BBC Blast to create four original film shorts to tell behind-the-scenes stories of the Thames Festival.  The film-makers were trained in camera operation & sound, film editing, music composition and narrative skills by BBC and film industry experts.

Each of the four young film crews followed the stories of the performers and event teams during the crucial days leading up to the Thames Festival. The four films also involve local residents and festival-goers to provide a unique glimpse into the incredible Thames Festival weekend.

The film crews were mainly based at the BFI Southbank, but were also filming across the Thames Festival all weekend.  The final edited short films were screened at the BFI at the end of September, and you can see them by using the links below
