In anticipation of 2012 and with the recent Beijing Olympics still fresh in our memory the DesignMuseum invites you to take a closer look at the sport of sailing and in particular the boats that bring in the medals.

Looking at the different events, the technical specifications required for each and how they gain top speeds we will help you design and build your own conceptual model. Along the way we will look at the history and future of the sport, what attracts people to it and just what it takes both physically and mentally to sail the waves.
